In Cambodia like in Vietnam, too many trees have been cut, large areas are without, erosion on the hills is visible. In Cambodia it is done by powerful people, above the law, sometimes they come from across the Vietnamese border.

PTEA helps poor villagers to protect "their forest", and to replant: pilars in concrete to put a clear border, surveillance, alert systems...

In Vietnam we replant around 75.000 trees every year, on public lands. We provide the plants and compensation to the planters for the job. After 6 months we pay a complement of 1 to 10 cents (depending on the variety), and the same after 1 year, for each surviving tree. An agreement with the authorities guarantees the local farmers will have their share at harvest time.
